Sklad - Forthcoming book featuring original poetry & photography - Sklad by is a poetry & photography chapbook (phoetry) that witnesses the narrator's past & changes of complicated parts of life through childhood pets, garages, new houses, birds, and more; through an ambitious lens of harmony. Harmony the author's cat and the concept and it's translation from sklad (polish/czech) to harmony as known in english. The book features 16 poems & 16 analog processed photographs on finely textured paper in a half-sheet booklet size. The cover will be made with high quality watercolor paper and the imagery of this cover will be created using the cyanotype process. The assembly of the project will be 100% handmade in my home. Sklad is almost ready.
A small book of 16 poems & 16 Photos hand-bound that finally found a place to rest together.
Sklad is a book about the small architectures of a life:
garages, birds, boxes, new houses, old rooms.
About the experiences we inherit & the things we chose to leave behind.
Each copy will be hand-bound at my desk with the help of my lovely partner, Kari Woolsey - (whom this project wouldn't be possible without) - stitched one at a time.
This will be a limited run — just enough for the people who want it & maybe a few more. (about 30 copies)
But alas, printing costs are beyond me currently, and as much as I am hesitant to do so,
(and with the lack of available grants at the end of the year) I am starting a tiered pre-order support system
Your support covers the cost of printing
and lets me make these objects with care & helps to launch Blue Witness Press’ first piece into the world.
